Dear customers, this inverter is available in various power ratings and models (1600W – 10000W). Please keep in mind that that is the Surge or Peak Power rating, the Continuous Power rating is half of that or less in this case. The Continuous Power ratings are listed in the photographs. Please choose the correct model for your needs very carefully. Thank you!
No matter where you live in the United States, there is always a possibility of a long term power outage. (more than a day or two) This Pure Wave Power Inverter is a great item to have during a power outage, it is also great for any and all types of outdoor use like fishing or hunting, camping, RV’s. During an emergency you can wire it up directly to your car battery. (12V Inverters only) Then you can drag out the extension cord and plug it in and then plug up an electrical appliance (like your refrigerator) directly to it. Depending on the electrical load you will need to make sure that you keep starting up and running the engine in your car to keep the battery charged up. May be a bit inefficient, but in an emergency you do what you have to.
If you are handy with tools you can always make your own portable emergency gasoline powered generator. All it takes is a metal frame, nuts and bolts to hold a small gasoline engine with a horizontal shaft and a power generator (or an automotive alternator), 12v automotive battery, a couple of pulleys, a fan belt and a power inverter and some small electrical cables. (I do have some of the items on this site) The best part of this type of set up is that the gasoline engine does not have to run constantly like a portable generator, once the battery or batteries are charged up you can shut the gasoline engine off until the battery or batteries need to be charged up again. You can also convert a gasoline engine to run on either natural gas or propane. With a little planning you can be very well prepared for the next emergency.
